The purpose of the TCU Research and Creative Activities Fund is to provide financial
support to enable a faculty member to engage in research or creative activities that will
make a significant contribution to the individuals discipline.
Instructional Development
Examples of appropriate activities include teaching pedagogies, the
incorporation of new technologies into teaching and learning (e.g., multimedia
enhancements to reflect new technological capabilities), to develop
international content in teaching, and participation in programs for skills or
professional enhancement directly related to instruction. The grants
support costs which go beyond funds normally provided by departmental budgets.

Graduate Student Travel
Grant Program
The Graduate Student Travel Grant Program has been established to support travel
of graduate students related to research. Funds may be used by graduate
students to make presentations as scientific meetings or to conduct research
related to their field of study. Maximum award is $400. Limited
funds are available; grant award will be determined, up to the fund limits, by
the associate provost's office.
Application forms may be submitted at any time to Dr. Bonnie Melhart, Associate
Provost, Sadler Hall, Room 208. Please note that all applications must
contain the endorsements of the Department Advisor/Chair and the Dean.
Undergraduate Research and
Creativity Travel Grant
Proposals are now being
accepted for undergraduate student travel to participate in professional
meetings related to undergraduate research and creative
activity projects. TCU undergraduate students from any major and at any level of study are
eligible, with the endorsement of a TCU faculty mentor. The money may only be used to
pay student travel expenses related to the undergraduate research/creative project
completed by August 15, 2008.
The maximum award is $1,000. Limited funds are available; grant award will
be determined by the associate provost's office.
Submit applications to Merry Roberts in 208 Sadler Hall, TCU Box 297023. Application review will begin March 31st, and will continue until all funding has been awarded. Click here for Application.
